Jiu Ting Housing

HLW has created a masterplan for the new residential community of Jui Ting. The project's organizing

element is a central serpentine road that winds through the homes on a north-south axis. Radiating off the

main road are the driveways that serve each cluster of townhouses. A pedestrian path follows the river at

the community's eastern edge, connecting a series of pocket parks nestled between the residential buildings.

This new community will also feature a retail village and clubhouse amenities.

The architectural design for the entire community has been heavily influenced by the Arts and Crafts

Movement of the Nineteenth Century, featuring an exaggerated horizontality, atypical proportions and

compositional informality. While following the same overall aesthetic, each grouping of townhouses

expresses unique characteristics in the form of material selection, balcony placement, and entrance features.
